Marayum is an online dictionary-making tool that can also be used as an online dictionary for Philippine indigenous languages.
Marayum was developed to allow interested language communities to create an online dictionary whose content would be owned by its members and peer-reviewed by language experts. The featured entries and content are a community-based effort done by the people who speak and practice the language.
Project Marayum is a University of the Philippines Diliman project funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Grants In Aid (DOST-GIA). The team would also like to acknowledge the Office of the Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Diliman through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development for the initial funding support made through the Source of Solutions Grant.
The website is owned and run by a research team based in UP Diliman, which is working in partnership with select regional universities.
About the Team
The Marayum Team is composed of UP graduates from different disciplines.
This is also the same team that is managing and maintaining the
International Year of Indigenous Languages in the Philippines website.
